Packers injury report Week 16: Jimmy Graham, Blake Martinez limited
The Green Bay Packers are getting healthier as they enter a Week 16 clash with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
The only player who missed practice on Wednesday, offensive lineman Alex Light, returned on Thursday and was a full participant. He was on the injury report due to an illness.
Tight end Marcedes Lewis was the only Packer not to practice on Thursday, but that was non-injury related and just a rest day.
Of the five players dealing with injuries, cornerback Kevin King (shoulder) was a full participant for the second day in a row. Tight end Jimmy Graham (wrist/groin), defensive tackle Dean Lowry (ankle), linebacker Blake Martinez (hand/calf) and tackle Yosh Nijman (elbow) were all limited.
Nijman was added to the injury report on Thursday.
For the most part, the injury report looks similar to Wednesday for the Packers.
Nothing changed for the Vikings.
Running backs Dalvin Cook (chest) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) were both out of practice again on Thursday. It’s looking more and more likely that they’ll both be out of Monday’s game, although we won’t know their game status until Saturday.
Cornerback Xavier Rhodes (ankle), defensive linemen Linval Joseph (knee) and Shamar Stephen (knee), and safety Jayron Kearse (toe) were all full participants for the second day in a row.
Based on the injury report, it looks like the Packers could be close to 100 percent on Monday night. The Vikings could be without two of their best players on offense but aren’t dealing with many other injuries.
Usually, the teams would’ve already announced the game status for each player on the injury report, but that won’t happen until Saturday as the game is played a day later than usual.
If I had to guess, Graham, Lowry and Martinez could be questionable for Monday, but I predict they’ll all play. For the Vikings, my guess is that both Cook and Mattison will be out. But there are still a few days to go, so we’ll see.
