The Seattle Seahawks’ loss is good news for the Green Bay Packers.

Wow. The Arizona Cardinals did it. Their upset win on the road against the Seattle Seahawks means the Green Bay Packers are still in the race for the NFC’s top seed.

Had the Seahawks won, the Packers wouldn’t have been able to finish any higher than the second seed.

Green Bay needs to win out to have a chance. It would then need a little bit of help in the season finale next weekend.

If the Packers win out and the Seahawks defeat the San Francisco 49ers next week, the NFC will go through Lambeau Field.

To make the Cardinals’ win even sweeter, it was former Packer Brett Hundley leading the offense following an injury to starting quarterback Kyler Murray. And let’s not forget that the Packers traded Hundley to the Seahawks for a draft pick, and today Hundley was helping the Packers by beating the Seahawks.

The former backup to Aaron Rodgers came in with the Cardinals up 20-7. He led Arizona on a promising looking drive, but Christian Kirk dropped a pass Hundley put on the money, leading to a field goal attempt which was blocked by Seattle.

The Seahawks battled back to make the score 20-13, putting the pressure on Hundley and the offense. Hundley then led a nine-play, 78-yard touchdown drive. On second-and-11, Hundley scrambled for 12 yards, making defenders miss to set up first-and-goal. Kenyan Drake ran in for a touchdown to effectively end the game.

If Green Bay gets the win on Monday night at Minnesota, we’ll go from rooting against the Seahawks to cheering for them next week. If they can beat the 49ers for the second time this season, the door will be open for the Packers to take the top seed in the conference.

But first, Matt LaFleur’s team must get the job done against the Vikings tomorrow night.
