Packers: Ranking the five greatest wins of the decade
3. Packers dominate Falcons in divisional round (2010)
When Aaron Rodgers retires, this game will go down as one of his all-time greatest performances. The Packers, as the NFC’s sixth seed, went on the road to the Falcons, who were the top seed after a 13-3 season. They didn’t just win the game, but dominated.
Rodgers completed 31 of his 36 passes for 366 yards and three touchdowns, and he also ran in another touchdown. Jordy Nelson, James Jones and John Kuhn all had touchdown catches, and Kuhn also scored on a rushing TD.
Two key plays on defense helped set the Packers up for a big win in the second quarter. Both were made by Tramon Williams.
With the game tied at 14-14, Williams intercepted Matt Ryan in the end zone to prevent the Falcons from taking the lead. Green Bay marched down the field and scored a TD to make it 21-14. With Atlanta aiming to score quickly before halftime, Williams again intercepted Ryan, this time taking it 70 yards for a pick-six.
Green Bay would turn a 14-7 deficit into a 42-14 lead, leaving the Georgia Dome with a dominant victory over the NFC’s top seed. It set up a clash with the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship Game, which the Packers would win 21-14.
