Winning ugly has been the theme of the season for the Green Bay Packers. And win they have. By completing the regular season with a 13-3 record, their best in almost a decade, it’s hard to disagree that this team knows how to win games. But few analysts seem to be giving them much chance of going all the way to the Super Bowl.

A lot of the focus is on the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. Even the New Orleans Saints seem to be getting more attention in the Super Bowl race than the Packers. And I get it. The Packers have won a lot of close games, haven’t always played to their best and have won many games despite not putting in a complete performance.

But we also know how good Green Bay can be when it does put together a complete game. Aaron Rodgers, at his very best, is one of the NFL’s biggest difference makers. Aaron Jones and Davante Adams are stars, and the offensive line is among the best in the league. The defense has played its part, forcing turnovers and getting off the field in the red zone.

The ingredients are there for a successful playoff run. But the Packers need to get some things right.
