Packers: Four bold predictions vs. Seahawks in divisional round
Aaron Jones has over 150 all-purpose yards
The Packers offense needs to become The Aaron Jones Show in the playoffs. If ever there was a time to make him the featured player in this offense, this is it. And he could be set for a big game against this Seattle defense.
The Seahawks ranked 22nd in run defense in the regular season, allowing 117.7 yards per game. They also allowed 22 rushing touchdowns, third-most in the NFL.
But Jones can also hurt the Seahawks through the air. According to Pro Football Reference, Seattle’s defense allowed 817 receiving yards to running backs in 2019, fourth-most in the NFL. That’s over 50 yards per game and should be music to Matt LaFleur’s ears.
If Jones gets into a rhythm and gets around 25 total touches, he could dominate this game.
In the Seahawks’ loss to the New Orleans Saints, Alvin Kamara had 69 yards rushing and 92 yards receiving with two total touchdowns. In a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Seattle allowed 199 yards rushing. They allowed 253 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a defeat against the Arizona Cardinals.
If Jones is given the opportunity, he can dominate this matchup and give the Packers a great chance of controlling the game and advancing to the next round. He is the X-Factor on offense against the Seahawks.
