Packers: Five players to watch in divisional round vs. Seahawks
By Jesse Fry
After a bye week to rest up, which five players will come out to send the Seahawks home and advance the Packers to the NFC Championship Game?
After a weekend of close games in the wild-card round, the Green Bay Packers now know who their opponent will be in the divisional round. And it’s a familiar foe.
For the sixth straight season, the Packers and Seattle Seahawks will do battle. The teams are an even three wins apiece during the regular season in this stretch with Seattle winning the lone playoff match up.
And who could forget that game? I believe there are still some in Packer Nation who haven’t gotten over that game.
That game was long enough ago that there are only a few players left over from that team. So outside of about seven players, there isn’t much carryover from that game. Aaron Rodgers may have an axe to grind.
But, for the fans, that game still stings and is very fresh in their minds.
This time though, the game will be played at Lambeau and that could prove big. During this six-year run of playing each other, the home team has won every game.
Seattle comes into the game banged up down their top three running backs and likely without two of their five starting linemen. By no means should the Packers think that means they are going to walk right through this game.
Seattle is still a very dangerous team, one more than capable of pulling off an upset. They still have MVP-candidate Russell Wilson and a dangerous passing attack.
This defense may not be the Legion of Boom, but they have veterans in the right places and can make plays.
These five players will have to be ready to go for the Packers to advance to their first NFC Championship Game since 2016.
