One player on defense who could but a damper on the Packers’ plans is Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney is an athletic freak who plays the run as well as the pass.

Clowney has been in and out of the lineup with a core injury since midseason. But with free agency pending, Clowney can make himself a lot of money with a strong showing in the postseason. He’s already had one good game against the Eagles, though he’s probably public enemy number one in Philly. If he has an even better game against Rodgers and the Packers, Clowney will not only put himself into position for a big payday, but also a Seahawks win.

As of right now, Bryan Bulaga‘s status for the game is unknown, though it looks promising. Bulaga is still in concussion protocol after leaving the game against Detroit. With his injury history, I would expect Bulaga to be the one the Seahawks and Clowney’s targets.

Like Za’Darius Smith, the Seahawks like to move Clowney around to get him the best matchup. But coming off the edge is where Clowney is best.

Like Clowney, Bulaga is in a contract year and faces an uncertain future with the Packers. Shutting down Clowney should give the offense the capability to run, as well as give Rodgers time to throw the ball.
