Looking ahead to the 2020 season, who are five breakout candidates for the Green Bay Packers?

As the Green Bay Packers aim to win another championship with Aaron Rodgers, they enter a crucial offseason to fix their biggest needs. But it’s not just going to be the additions made in the offseason who will need to make an impact, but also players already on the roster. Today, we’ll look at potential breakout candidates for the Packers in 2020.

This past season, Aaron Jones was a breakout star for the Packers. Fans already knew how talented he was after his first two seasons in the league but with a bigger opportunity in Matt LaFleur’s offense, he put together a breakout season with 23 total touchdowns (including playoffs).

Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith also had breakout seasons in 2019. The Packers knew how much potential both players had when they signed them, but neither had previously logged double-digit sacks in a single season until 2019.

For the Packers to take the next step from a team good enough to reach the NFC Championship Game to one that can win the Super Bowl, they will need contributions from both the new additions to the roster, along with the development of players already on the roster.
