FanSided has the Packers going with Brandon Aiyuk in the first round of their latest mock draft.

If the Green Bay Packers‘ plan is to address the need at wide receiver early in April’s draft, they will be able to just wait until No. 30 overall and see who is still available. Given the depth of talent at the position this year, they will have plenty of options.

A great choice would be Arizona State’s Brandon Aiyuk, who is one of the top choices to Green Bay in mock drafts at the moment. It’s too early to tell whether he’s a lock for the first round, especially before the NFL Scouting Combine later this month, but Aiyuk late in the first seems to be about right at the moment.

For the Packers, the need is clear. Adding more receiving talent to complement Davante Adams is a priority, even if they do get a second-year jump from tight end Jace Sternberger or a boost from Equanimeous St. Brown, who missed all of the 2019 season due to injury.

The FanSided staff agrees. In their latest NFL mock draft, they have the Packers going with Aiyuk with their first-round selection.

Outstanding after the catch, Aiyuk has the speed to make defenders miss, and that would make him a perfect fit in Matt LaFleur’s offense. The Packers need more explosive players on offense to go with Adams and Aaron Jones. Aiyuk would make a difference.

Kyle Crabbs of The Draft Network wrote that “Aiyuk is a dynamic receiving prospect who possesses an exciting ceiling at the NFL level”. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com compared him to Robert Woods.

Due to the depth at the position, Aiyuk might not get the same attention as he may do in other years. It may even cause him to fall into the second round. But make no mistake, Aiyuk could be a difference-maker for the Packers and is well worth a first-round selection.

Do you think the Packers should select a wide receiver at No. 30? Or would you prefer to go inside linebacker or another position of need?
