Packers free agency predictions 2020: Who re-signs, who walks?
Geronimo Allison
Geronimo Allison entered the season with high expectations after impressing in 2018 before getting hurt. Yet despite playing in over three times as many games this past season, his receiving numbers actually went down. Allison finished the year with just 287 yards and two touchdowns.
He failed to catch five passes in a single game all season and only had 40 or more receiving yards in two games. After catching two touchdowns in the opening four games, Allison didn’t find the end zone again in the final 14 games of the season (including playoffs). In the postseason, he caught three passes for 19 yards.
Fixing the wide receiver position will be on Brian Gutekunst’s to-do list this offseason. With a talented free agency and draft class to come, Allison has likely played his final game in Green Bay.
Allison has made some huge plays in recent years, but he couldn’t take the next step up when the Packers needed another starting receiver to complement Davante Adams.
There’s a good chance the Packers will bring in at least two receivers at some point this offseason, whether that’s in free agency, the draft or a trade. And after Allison’s disappointing 2019 season, there’s a strong possibility he won’t be re-signed.
Prediction: Walks
