Three affordable free agency moves the Green Bay Packers should consider.

While we should expect the Green Bay Packers to be active participants in free agency, it’s unlikely they’ll be able to spend big as they did a year ago. Instead of making four big signings in the opening week of the new league year, they might be limited to one or two, if possible. GM Brian Gutekunst will also need to look for affordable deals.

Spending money wisely in free agency can make a huge difference, as we saw last offseason. By addressing positions of need by signing veterans in free agency, the pressure is eased when it comes to making draft picks. Attempting to fix everything in the draft is a near-impossible task, and Gutekunst understands that.

Whether the Packers make a big splash, or two, or even none, they should also look to make a few second-tier signings. Talented players who can help at positions of need but on more affordable contracts.

The Packers may sign a top talent like Cory Littleton or Austin Hooper, but if there’s a lot of interest elsewhere and the price tag is driven up, those deals could become too difficult to make. With that in mind, here are three free agents who could potentially be signed on more cap-friendly deals for the Packers.
