With the fate of free agency and the draft uncertain, here is a blueprint for the Packers in free agency.

The Packers have just under $28 million in cap space, according to Over The Cap.

They have a number of glaring needs on both sides of the ball and have just enough wiggle room to address them.

Here are five moves that need to be made to get the Packers in position to finally get back to the Super Bowl.

1. Sign Cory Littleton to a 5 year/$74 million deal w/$50 million guaranteed

Last season was a week-to-week display of how poor the Packers were at not only stopping the run, but containing the middle of their defense as well. Blake Martinez and B.J. Goodson simply weren’t good enough. The NFC Championship was another example of how poorly prepared the Packers were to stop a good rushing offense. The biggest culprit was Martinez.

The Packers got some slightly underwhelming play from newcomer Adrian Amos at the safety position, but he, like any safety will play far better with competent linebacker play. Despite Martinez’s astronomic tackling numbers, his impact on the defense was minimal. Breaking the bank for someone like Cory Littleton is going to be difficult considering the Packers don’t have too much cap space to begin with, and have other needs.

However, the Packer defense has plenty of talent to go around. Brian Gutekunst, in just two years, has added Jaire Alexander, Darnell Savage Jr., Adrian Amos, Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith and Rashan Gary to his defense, among other smaller pieces. The middle of the defense is what still needs reinforcements, and Littleton’s outstanding play over the last two seasons is exactly what Green Bay needs.
