Packers roundup: Free agency to begin as scheduled
A roundup of the latest Green Bay Packers articles for Monday, March 16.
Welcome to the Packers News Report.
Today, the two-day negotiating period begins in the NFL. Effectively, free agency starts at 11 a.m. CT this morning. Of course, any deals reported over the next couple of days won’t become official until Wednesday at the earliest, so even signings that look complete can change prior to the start of the new league year.
So that means, today, the Packers could (unofficially) sign a new player. Cory Littleton? Austin Hooper? Joe Schobert? It should make for an interesting few days.
Also, we’ll be keeping a close eye on which players receive the franchise tag around the league this morning.
