This three-round mock draft explores the possibility of the Green Bay Packers selecting a quarterback in the first round.

Less than a month away from the scheduled start of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers still have a major need at wide receiver despite the signing of Devin Funchess, and other needs include linebacker, offensive tackle and defensive tackle.

You’ll notice quarterback isn’t on that list. Yet it’s a possibility, even if only a small one, that the Packers could use an early pick at the position. It would be a pick made with an eye to the future rather than a move that would be for 2020. Potential long-term benefits of drafting a QB could have an impact on the short-term, however, so it would be a risky move.

But how could the opening three rounds play out if the Packers did draft a quarterback first? They would still have needs at wide receiver and the run defense would still need work. That’s what this mock draft is all about.

We can safely assume that LSU’s Joe Burrow, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Oregon’s Justin Herbert will be long gone before the Packers pick. Other quarterbacks may also be off the board, but it’s possible one could fall to No. 30.

So here we go. Here’s my attempt at a three-round mock draft with the Packers going QB in the first round.
