One thing seems clear in this mock draft roundup, which is that wide receiver is the Green Bay Packers’ biggest need.

Although the Packers have signed Devin Funchess, wide receiver remains a major need ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Along with inside linebacker, defensive tackle and offensive tackle, a wide receiver in the first round is very much in play for the Packers, which is rarely the case.

All four mock drafts have the Packers going with a WR at No. 30 overall.

With the First Pick, Alex Barnett

Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor

Early in the offseason, Denzel Mims was considered a Day 2 pick even after a dominant performance at the Senior Bowl. But after his numbers at February’s scouting combine, he moved up into the first round. Now it’s a question of if he’ll even still be available at No. 30 overall.

Alex Barnett of With the First Pick has Mims falling to the Packers, with receivers Justin Jefferson and Laviska Shenault gone just ahead of their pick.

Joe Marino, The Draft Network

Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado

Laviska Shenault would be an exciting addition to Green Bay’s offense, and he’d give Matt LaFleur a ton of options. Joe Marino of The Draft Network believes he’s “exactly the type of weapon the Green Bay Packers’ offense needs” in his latest mock draft.

As Marino notes, the biggest concern with Shenault is his durability. It could cause him to fall down the draft order.

Charles Davis, NFL.com

Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado

Shenault is also the pick in this mock draft by Charles Davis of NFL.com. Davis wrote about Shenault’s versatility, and he’s absolutely right.

We saw LaFleur get creative with Tyler Ervin towards the end of the season and he could do the same with Shenault. Let’s not forget that Brian Gutekunst said he hoped to add an “explosive playmaker” ahead of last season’s trade deadline.

Sports Illustrated, Kevin Hanson

Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor

This mock draft roundup has perfect symmetry. Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Hanson has Green Bay going with Mims at No. 30 overall. No complaints here. I love Mims.

Mims and Shenault could both be options for the Packers in the first round. Depending on when the run at receiver begins, Gutekunst could have even more top-tier receivers to choose from at No. 30. In some ways, it could make his decision all the more difficult.

In such a scenario, perhaps they’d be able to trade down, acquire additional picks and still get one of the draft’s best receivers.
