After a quiet free agency period, the Green Bay Packers will need a strong 2020 draft class for the team to reach the next step. Today, we’ll look at three ways they can “win” the 2020 NFL Draft.

For a team that fell just one game short of the Super Bowl last season, they have a surprisingly high number of needs. With limited cap space available last month, general manager Brian Gutekunst took on a more cautious approach to free agency than we saw 12 months earlier. There were no big-money moves like signing the Smith Bros. last year, with Gutekunst instead opting for cheaper, low-risk moves.

The hope is that one or two of those players gets back to their best, making the contract a bargain for the Packers. And if it doesn’t work out, the cap hits are low and the contracts are easy to get out of after a year.

Free agency is still open and the Packers could still be in the market for more additions in the coming weeks, but the attention has shifted to the NFL Draft. Green Bay currently owns the 30th overall pick on Day 1.
