K.J. Hamler in the second round

If the Packers don’t go with a wide receiver in the first round, they’ll need to address the position at some point on Day 2. K.J. Hamler out of Penn State could be a first-rounder but with such depth at receiver this year, there’s every chance he falls to the second day.

But if Hamler does make it to the second round, it’s unlikely he’ll still be on the board when the Packers pick at No. 62. Moving up might be their only option to select him on Day 2.

With Hamler’s speed and ability in the slot, the Packers offense would have another game-changing player with the ball in his hands. Joe Marino of The Draft Network wrote that he is “one of the most dynamic and electric offensive weapons in the 2020 class”.

It’s possible that his size (5-foot-9) could cause him to fall out of the first round but he’s a talented player who can be impossible to tackle in the open field.

If the Packers stick at No. 30 and pick a player at another position, they could still be able to add a difference-maker at wide receiver on Day 2. Trading up for Hamler would be a potential option to consider if he’s still available.
