Which prospects should the Packers draft or shaft?

4. Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
The Packers have been known to do their best to put out smokescreens in the draft over the years, and their reported interest in Jordan Love may be no different. But it is worth considering his value to the team given his sky-high potential. Love is only going to be taken by the bravest of general managers willing to be fired on the spot by an owner.
While Packer fans are far from the most patent fan base, Brian Gutekunst doesn’t have to worry about ownership too much. Drafting Love would be an incredibly risky move, but might just pay off in an incredible way.
He is as raw as it gets, but has about as much talent as you’ll ever find. The Packers can peer into the future with an aging quarterback, similarly as they did with Aaron Rodgers’ predecessor. Having him sit behind the old man could do wonders for his mechanics, decision-making, and consistency, and could turn him into the quarterback most people agree he could be. But, there are simply too many needs on the roster, and the Packers need to win while they still can.
Verdict: Shaft
5. K.J. Hamler, WR, Penn State
It’s been well documented that the Packers can’t run at all. K.J. Hamler is the second most electrifying speedster in the draft behind Henry Ruggs III. While his hands aren’t amazing, Hamler did not struggle with drops and instead showed a limited catch radius. But, this has been true of virtually every smaller wide receiver who lined up primarily in the slot. Green Bay has more than enough size at receiver and needs to get a slot playmaker. Hamler is that guy.
Defenses will have to account for Hamler’s blinding speed from day one. Time and again last year Matt LaFleur would call a jet sweep off a push pass in the backfield to either Davante Adams or Geronimo Allison. Neither can exactly run with Hamler. Adding the Penn State product would give Green Bay a huge new weapon and inject some juice into the offense. Hamler can help in the return game as well. If Hamler remains on the board at number 30, it should be a no-brainer for the brainy Gutekunst.
Verdict: Draft
