Packers final 2020 mock draft roundup: It’s all wide receivers
Nothing is certain in the draft, but many analysts are in agreement. The Green Bay Packers’ top need is at wide receiver.
There’s a great chance the Packers‘ top pick will be a receiver. Not only is it a major need, but there’s also a strong possibility the best player on the board at No. 30 will happen to be a receiver. It’s a deep class.
You can find my final four-round mock draft here and, like the other mocks in this roundup, I also have the Packers selecting a pass-catcher first.
Just watch them draft a cornerback at No. 30 tonight.
NFL Spin Zone, Zach Cohen
Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
Zach Cohen of NFL Spin Zone went with Baylor’s Denzel Mims at No. 30. While many Packers fans are hoping for LSU’s Justin Jefferson, it may be a little unrealistic he falls far enough. Mims wouldn’t be a bad consolation, however.
Cohen wrote that he’s not confident in this pick, but I’d be all for it. Not only does Mims have a phenomenal catch radius, but he’s also got great height and speed.
NFL Mocks, Dillon Appleman
Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State
Dillon Appleman of NFL Mocks also has Green Bay going WR first, but there’s a catch (no pun intended). In this mock, the Packers trade down from No. 30 to No. 34, which is the second pick of the second round.
This would be a good scenario for the Packers if it played out this way. They move back but still land a top receiver. Brandon Aiyuk would be a first-rounder most years. He still could be in this year’s draft.
The Draft Network, Joe Marino
Michael Pittman Jr., WR, USC
USC’s Michael Pittman Jr. has slipped under the radar somewhat, but he should be in first-round consideration. Joe Marino of The Draft Network believes he’d be a good complement to Davante Adams, which is why he’s the choice at No. 30 in his mock draft. Interestingly, both Mims and Aiyuk were already off the board.
Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com
Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona State
NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah also has Aiyuk going to Green Bay in his final mock draft. Jeremiah notes that Utah State quarterback Jordan Love could fit at No. 30, but he instead goes for Aiyuk, who he believes is a “perfect fit” in Matt LaFleur’s offense.
