FanSided predicts the Green Bay Packers will once again win the NFC North.

The Packers bounced back in 2019, finishing with their best regular-season record in eight years to wrap up the NFC’s number two seed.

But after an interesting offseason, to put it one way, many are expecting the Packers to fall back from last season. Especially when the number of one-score games they won last season is also considered.

Following the release of the 2020 schedule, FanSided’s Matt Verderame has predicted every game in the NFL this upcoming season. While he does have Green Bay winning two fewer games this season, it’s still good for first place in the NFC North and the fourth seed in the conference.

Packers fans will be pleased to see that Verderame has Green Bay winning on opening weekend on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. They roll to 2-0 before losing to the New Orleans Saints in Week 3.

In perhaps the biggest surprise, Verderame believes the Packers will edge out the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9, winning 34-28. While I’d love nothing more than this prediction to be correct, I can’t agree with it. Not only are the 49ers the better team and playing at home, but this is also a Thursday night game. The Packers will have to travel to the West Coast on limited rest, just days after hosting a huge divisional contest versus the Vikings.

But if there’s one positive, it’s that the 49ers will be in Seattle four days earlier, also a key divisional game.

Even after finally overcoming the 49ers, there’s a new team to be worried about in the NFC. Verderame predicts the Packers will lose their Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 30-28. The Bucs then win the rematch at Lambeau Field in the wild-card round by a score of 33-31. That’s two close, fun games to watch, but this would be a heartbreaking result to lose both and exit the playoffs early.

How many games do you think the Packers will win in 2020?
