Packers: Four of final six games will be played at Lambeau Field in 2020
Four of the Green Bay Packers’ final six regular season games are at home.
If the Green Bay Packers can make it through the first half of the 2020 season in playoff contention, they’ll be in a great position to push on down the stretch. That’s because four of their final six games will be held at Lambeau Field, which gives the Packers a big advantage.
In Weeks 12 and 13, they host the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles. In Weeks 15 and 16 they take on the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans at Lambeau.
As the weather gets colder, the tougher it becomes for visiting teams to win at Lambeau. The Packers know how to play, and win, in these conditions.
Last season, it was the opposite. Five of their eight home games came in the opening seven weeks of the season. After their Week 11 bye, they only played two more games at home in the final six weeks of the regular season.
With so many home games coming late in the year this time, it means they’ll need to be able to pick up wins on their travels, particularly in a tough midseason stretch. Between Week 6 and 11, the Packers will be on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts. That’s Tom Brady, Deshaun Watson, Jimmy Garoppolo and Philip Rivers.
Of the Packers’ final six games, two are on the road. Both of them are divisional games, first in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions, then in the season finale against the Bears.
With a tough schedule and strong competition in the NFC, winning the division and securing a playoff berth won’t be easy. The Packers will need to be strong at home to give themselves a good chance of matching last season’s success.
Getting to play so many home games late in the year could be a big advantage for Green Bay.
