The Packers will clash with the Falcons at Lambeau in Week 4.

In the past six games between the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons, the home team has come out on top.

It’s perhaps great news that the Week 4 showdown between these two teams will take place at Lambeau Field.

The Packers have won three straight against the Falcons at home.

Last season

While Atlanta finished the season with some pride, a surprisingly poor start ended its playoff hopes quickly. The Falcons lost seven of their first eight games, but then remarkably turned things around with a stunning road victory against the New Orleans Saints.

Atlanta went 6-2 in the second half of the season but it proved too little, too late. A 7-9 season was disappointing, but perhaps the second-half performance is a sign of what’s to come.

When is the game?

These two teams will meet on Monday Night Football in Week 4. The game kicks off at 7:15 p.m. CT on Monday, Oct. 5.

Offseason additions

Atlanta’s biggest offseason acquisition is three-time All-Pro running back Todd Gurley. Gurley didn’t look the same player as he once was in 2019, rushing for just 857 yards, but he did finish the season with over 1,000 all-purpose yards and 14 total touchdowns. How the Falcons plan to use Gurley will be interesting to see.

The Falcons also signed tight end Hayden Hurst to replace Austin Hooper.

Selecting A.J. Terrell with the 16th overall pick was a surprising move, but Terrell will be expected to help strengthen their secondary after losing Desmond Trufant.

Last meeting with the Packers

December 9, 2018: Packers won 34-20 at Lambeau Field

Player to watch

Julio Jones: Jones loves playing against the Packers. Including the postseason, he’s played Green Bay six times in his career and has a combined 698 yards and five touchdowns. The Packers have had little answer for him in the past but that will need to change this time.
