Running back (4, 9/53)

  1. Aaron Jones
  2. AJ Dillon
  3. Jamaal Williams
  4. Tyler Ervin

After his breakout season in 2019, Aaron Jones is the featured back in Green Bay and that shouldn’t change. Even with the addition of AJ Dillon, head coach Matt LaFleur needs to ensure Jones is still getting a big share of the carries because he is a difference-maker for this offense.

I have Dillon overtaking Jamaal Williams on the depth chart. That doesn’t mean Williams won’t contribute; he’ll still be an important part of this offense as he can play on all three downs. But after spending a second-round pick on Dillon back in April, the Packers are going to want to get their talented rookie running back on the field. His power could get him on the field on early downs and in short-yardage situations.

The key battle to watch over the summer will be for the number two spot. And that’s likely a competition between Dillon and Williams.

Dexter Williams will compete for a roster spot but I have Tyler Ervin as the fourth RB. He makes the team mostly for his contributions on special teams as a returner on kickoffs and punts, but he can also get some snaps on offense. LaFleur used him creatively last season and should find a way to get him more involved in 2020.
