2. What impact will AJ Dillon make in his rookie season?

What role will rookie AJ Dillon have in his first season with the Packers?

As a second-recond pick, the expectation should be for Dillon to play a significant role in Matt LaFleur’s offense, if not this season then certainly by 2021.

Will Dillon be primarily used on early downs to wear down defenses and set up manageable third downs? Will he part of the passing game? Will Dillon be used mostly in short-yardage situations and in the red zone?

How much confidence the Packers have in Dillon, and therefore the share of the carries he’s given, will determine what kind of impact he can make in year number one.

The lack of an offseason program over the past few months could also be a factor. Training camp is expected to start on time, but the rookies are yet to have any time together with the team since being drafted in the spring. As a result, it’s possible the Packers will start the season with a 1-2 punch of Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams and slowly give Dillon more opportunities.

It could also go the other way. Dillon could make an immediate impact as the number two running back behind Jones and have an excellent first season.

How he fits into LaFleur’s offense will be something to watch closely early in the season.
