Linebackers

Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, Christian Kirksey

The Smith Bros. started all 16 games last season and that run will continue this year. Last season, the Packers often went with one inside linebacker on the field and that will be the same in Week 1. Christian Kirksey replaces Blake Martinez as the Packers’ top inside linebacker. While you could make a case for Mike Pettine starting with two linebackers in the middle, I have them going with an additional defensive back.

If Green Bay does start with two inside linebackers, there’s no obvious choice to start with Kirksey. Oren Burks? Rookie Kamal Martin? Curtis Bolton? There’s a lot of uncertainty at inside linebacker for the Packers.

Secondary

Jaire Alexander, Kevin King, Chandon Sullivan, Adrian Amos, Darnell Savage

This secondary has the potential to be very strong in 2020. Jaire Alexander and Kevin King are an excellent starting duo at cornerback, and Chandon Sullivan is the most likely replacement for Tramon Williams in the slot.

Another possibility is the Packers starting with three safeties. Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage can be one of the best starting tandems in the league this year, but the Packers could decide to start with an additional safety. If healthy, Raven Greene could also start in the season opener.
