Packers news today: Preseason could be scrapped in 2020
A roundup of the latest Green Bay Packers news for Tuesday, July 21.
Welcome to the Packers news today.
It looks like we’re heading for zero preseason games this year. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the league has offered the union no preseason games.
Initially, it seemed the NFL would reduce the preseason from four games to two, but rumors continued about the preseason being scrapped completely. That will now likely be the case. This will place a greater emphasis on training camp for players on the roster bubble or competing for starting jobs.
In other Packers news, the rookies won’t be reporting for training camp today as expected. According to Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Packers rookies will arrive on Thursday instead.
