Round 5 (146): Jordan Davis, IDL, Georgia

A surprise from this year’s draft was that the Packers didn’t draft a defensive lineman. They absolutely need to give Kenny Clark an extension; Clark is currently set to become a free agent next offseason. If they lose Clark, defensive tackle will be the team’s biggest need next year and they’d need to consider using an early pick.

Even if they do work out a long-term deal, depth along the defensive line is a concern, which is why I have them going with Georgia’s Jordan Davis in the fifth.

Round 6 (178): Dez Fitzpatrick, WR, Louisville

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to add some more depth at wide receiver, even after drafting Waddle in the first round. The Packers will need to make a decision on whether to re-sign Devin Funchess after the 2020 season, and they’ll also have to decide whether Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown will be important parts of the offense moving forward.

Late in the draft, they go with Dez Fitzpatrick out of Louisville, who had 635 yards and six touchdowns last season.

Round 7 (210): Chauncey Golston, EDGE, Iowa

In the seventh round, the Packers added pass-rushing depth with Iowa’s Chauncey Golston. The Packers’ top three edge rushers will likely still be Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, and Rashan Gary in 2021, but adding some competition behind them is never a bad idea.
