NFC East

  1. Dallas Cowboys (11-5)*
  2. Philadelphia Eagles (9-7)
  3. New York Giants (4-12)
  4. Washington Football Team (3-13)

The Packers will only play one team in the NFC East this season, the Philadelphia Eagles at Lambeau Field. The Eagles beat the Packers at Lambeau last year.

The Mike McCarthy era gets underway with the Dallas Cowboys, and the former Packers head coach has to be delighted with the Cowboys’ roster this season. Offensively, the Cowboys can be up there with the best in the league.

There aren’t many better receiving trios than Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and first-round pick CeeDee Lamb, and that’s before we even talk about All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliott. Quarterback Dak Prescott is a two-time Pro Bowler, but under McCarthy, he can take his game to the next level.

There are some questions on defense after losing Pro Bowl cornerback Byron Jones, but this unit ranked ninth in total defense last season and still has a lot of talent.

It’s hard to look beyond the Cowboys for the division title this year, and McCarthy’s first season should be a successful one. And given the tough competition there will be in the NFC, only one team from the East makes it into the postseason.

The Eagles are talented enough to make the playoffs, but they have a tough schedule. One talented team in the NFC has to miss out, and it’s the Eagles with a 9-7 record.
