7. Josiah Deguara is used all over the field

Rookie tight end Josiah Deguara could just have a backup role in his first season, although when he’s on the field, he could line up at many different positions. Deguara will spend time at fullback. He was an excellent run-blocker in college, something that could translate to more snaps in the Packers offense early in his career.

Deguara can also be used as a tight end or receiver. In his final two seasons at Cincinnati, Deguara caught 77 passes for 972 yards and 12 touchdowns. We might not see him get a ton of targets in the regular season this year, but it shows his versatility. Deguara will be able to take on many roles in Matt LaFleur’s offense, which will be evident at training camp.

8. Ricky Wagner is the starting right tackle

As well as competition at right guard, the same will likely be true at right tackle. Despite signing Ricky Wagner in free agency, it’s not a guarantee he’ll be the starter in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. There’s actually a possibility Lane Taylor could move to right guard, and Billy Turner shifts to right tackle.

That said, I’m picking Wagner to win the job. He has a ton of experience at right tackle having started 87 games for the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions. If he can get back to his best, Wagner will be a dependable starter on the right side of the offensive line.
