Packers news today: Analysis from initial 53-man roster
A roundup of the latest Green Bay Packers news for Sunday, Sept. 6.
Welcome to the Packers news today.
The Green Bay Packers cut their roster to 53 players on Saturday, but this is the initial roster, not the final roster. There will be changes made over the coming days ahead of Week 1.
It’s possible some of the injured players could go on injured reserve. It’s important for that to happen after they make the 53-man roster as it means they can return later in the season. Being placed on IR before the roster is cut to 53 players means they can’t return, as we saw with Equanimeous St. Brown last year.
Expect to see more roster moves by the Packers in the coming days.
