Three bold predictions for the Packers in Week 2 versus the Lions.

For three quarters in Week 1, both the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions looked set for important divisional victories.

The Packers closed out a comfortable win over the Minnesota Vikings, but the Lions fell apart, giving up a 17-point lead to lose to the Chicago Bears. Throwing away leads late on has a been a theme for the Lions under Matt Patricia, including twice against the Packers last season.

Under head coach Matt LaFleur, Green Bay is yet to lose a divisional game in seven matchups. If that run continues this week, the Packers will be set up perfectly after two weeks.

If last season taught us anything, however, it’s not to take the Lions lightly. Even in what proved to be a disappointing season, Detroit outplayed Green Bay in both games, with the Packers needing to make fourth-quarter comebacks in both contests. Mason Crosby needs to be ready late in this game.

The Packers are back at Lambeau Field for the first time this season but there will be no fans in attendance, taking away some of the home-field advantage. We saw this at U.S. Bank Stadium last week.

Still, the Packers have a great chance to build on last week’s win. Here are three bold predictions for Week 2.
