Packers: Five standout performances from Week 3 win vs. Saints
By Jesse Fry
Top five performers from the Packers’ big week three win versus the Saints.
Another week and another strong performance by the Green Bay Packers offense in a winning effort.
The Packers are building something and it could be special. After beating two teams that are now a combined 1-5, the Packers faced their first tough test against the New Orleans Saints, on the road in a place where Rodgers was previously 0-2.
Green Bay took it to the Saints defense, moving the ball at will on their way to putting up 37 points.
Short their best playmaking receiver, Davante Adams, head coach Matt LaFleur got creative with motions and formations and did not miss a beat without Adams.
The defense was once again up and down in their performance but was able to get a timely turnover and key stop late in the game to help seal the win.
The prime time battle was everything we thought it would be. Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara were spectacular leading the Saints offense. But in the end it was Rodgers earning his first victory in New Orleans.
The Packers offense looks unstoppable. Rodgers is playing loose and in full control in his second year of LaFleur’s scheme. Coach LaFleur seems to have found a good rhythm and balance in his play-calling and is giving defenses fits with all his misdirection.
If the defense can put together more consistency, this Packers team could do something very special this season.
For now, the team is 3-0 and coming off a big win. These five performances were key in the Packers’ victory.
