The Packers defense was shorthanded and lit up in the 2016 NFC title game by the Falcons. Julio Jones couldn’t be stopped and he just bullied the Packers’ cornerbacks in that game. Jones’ size and speed was no match for the Packers.

That following draft, the Packers backed away from a pass rusher and traded down and took the player they had in mind for exactly this type of game.

Kevin King has the size and speed to keep up with Jones and not just get pushed around.

King was a rookie playing his second game when the team played Atlanta the following season. He has come a long way since.

Jaire Alexander is going to be in the Pro Bowl very soon, but this matchup better suits King.

King is also in a contract year and could use a big season to ensure a big payday. King hasn’t got on the stat sheet with a turnover play yet this year, but he led the Packers in interceptions in 2019.

In what could be a shootout, King could find plenty of opportunities to get his first this week. If the pass rush can play up to its potential, the opportunity for an errant pass or rushed throw will multiply greatly.

On Monday night in primetime, this is the perfect place for King to show just how much he’s worth.
