Packers: Five players key to victory in Week 7 vs. Texans
By Jesse Fry
Coming off a big loss, who are the five players to watch for the Packers in Week 7?
When the Green Bay Packers lose under Matt LaFleur, they seem to lose big. Other than last year’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers have been blown out in their other four defeats. Very puzzling to say the least. What has also come after those loses is usually a long strand of victories.
That is what must happen next for the Packers to show they are the real deal and closer to the team that started 4-0 than the team that was blown out by Tampa 38-10.
The Packers will now head to Houston to face a Texans team that is tragically underachieving. They have a generational quarterback and an all-world defender but the pieces around them leave a lot to be desired. The Texans’ only win on the season so far came against a rebuilding Jacksonville squad two weeks ago.
Houston has already started making changes, firing head coach Bill O’Brien and replacing him with Romeo Crennel after their loss to the Vikings in week four.
Houston, and the state of Texas for that matter, has been kind to Aaron Rodgers. Last time Rodgers played in Houston, he had a record-setting day as he threw for six touchdowns and over 300 yards. The Packers shouldn’t need that type of effort from him in this game as the team is more reliant on the ground game and Aaron Jones than that team in 2012.
But, it would not surprise me to see that type of effort as he wants to have a better showing than last week’s debacle.
Here are my five players to watch this Sunday versus the Texans.
