Packers: No Jaire Alexander or Kevin King in Week 10 vs. Jags
The Packers are without their top two cornerbacks in Week 10.
The list of inactives has been released ahead of the Green Bay Packers‘ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10. As expected, the Packers won’t have their starting two cornerbacks, Jaire Alexander or Kevin King.
Alexander will miss this game due to a concussion. King will miss his fifth game in a row due to a quad injury.
The Packers are dealing with injuries in the secondary. Safety Will Redmond will also miss this game.
How will the Packers line up at cornerback? According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, in warmups, it looked to be Josh Jackson and Chandon Sullivan as the top two corners with Sullivan moving back inside in nickel with Ka’dar Hollman entering.
There’s some good news on offense. The Packers will have their full strength offensive line available again with left tackle David Bakhtiari back in the lineup.
Demovsky noted that in warmups, the five together were Bakhtiari at left tackle, Elgton Jenkins at left guard, Corey Linsley at center, Lucas Patrick at right guard, and Billy Turner at right tackle. He added that Robert Tonyan was at fullback. Given the injuries to Josiah Deguara and John Lovett, this isn’t surprising.
Outside of the injuries in the secondary, the team is relatively healthy for this game. Even without Alexander and King, the Packers will be expected to win this game up against an inexperienced quarterback at home.
However, even though this looks to be a favorable matchup, the Packers will need their starting cornerbacks back next week against the Indianapolis Colts.
The conditions will have an impact on the game. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, there will be wind gusts up to 50mph.
With some tough games coming up in the next few weeks, this is a game Green Bay needs to win despite missing Alexander and King.
