Week 15: Carolina Panthers

The Packers needed a goal-line stand to beat the Carolina Panthers at a snowy Lambeau Field last season, and while they’ll be strong favorites to win this time, this Panthers team can give the Packers some problems.

The obvious mismatch will be Green Bay’s run defense up against Christian McCaffrey if he has returned from a shoulder injury by Week 15. McCaffrey had 141 total yards with a touchdown in last season’s meeting, which should be considered a success. Any team that can stop McCaffrey from taking over the game should be pleased.

The Panthers have a good offense with Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback and a talented receiving trio of DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, and Curtis Samuel.

Yes, the Panthers have lost seven games this season. And, yes, it’ll be at home. But of the seven games they’ve lost, five have been by a touchdown or less. That includes games against the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, and Las Vegas Raiders.

Where the Panthers will struggle is trying to slow down Aaron Rodgers, who is playing better football than last season. Carolina’s defense is 19th against the pass, has just 16 sacks (No. 25 in the NFL) and five interceptions.

Rodgers impresses and the Packers win a tough game.

Prediction: Packers 28, Panthers 20 (11-3)
