Week 17: at Chicago Bears

The NFC North title will be in the bag by Week 17 but the Packers could be aiming for higher playoff seeding. And remember that only the top seed from each conference will be awarded with a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Eleven wins is unlikely be enough for the No. 1 seed in the NFC but 12 could.

Playoff scenarios will determine how the Packers approach this game. If the division is in the bag and they can’t improve their playoff seeding or fall any lower in the standings, they could opt to rest the starters and give the fans a ticket to the Tim Boyle Laser Show.

However, let’s assume the Packers still need to win this game. Much like in the Week 12 meeting, the Bears’ struggling offense will have a huge factor in this game. Green Bay’s biggest weakness defensively is also Chicago’s biggest weakness offensively.

While the Bears’ defense has played well this season, they can’t do it alone. Chicago is No. 6 in scoring defense entering Week 12. They will keep the game close.

But the Packers take care of business and secure their eighth victory over the Bears in their past nine meetings. The question is will this be enough for the NFC’s top seed?

Prediction: Packers 24, Bears 20 (12-4)
