Allen Lazard didn’t do much in his return for the Packers

Dud #1: Allen Lazard

After getting his first real action for the first time since week three, Allen Lazard was pretty much a non-factor in this game. He caught two of four targets for a grand total of 18 yards. Of course, coming off of such a long layoff you would expect him to be slowly worked into the offense upon his return.

With how much the offense was struggling in the second half, some more production by him would have been welcome. Moving forward you can probably expect him to be a bigger part of the offense. Also with the way MVS has been playing, Lazard may see a little less attention than he normally would.

The Colts have a really good defense and it’s not getting any easier next week with the Packers playing the Bears and that talented defense. The Bears may have the best cornerback tandem in the league this year with how well Kyle Fuller and rookie Jaylon Johnson have played.

Moving forward I think we can expect Lazard to start producing again. He was playing very well to start the season and had a career-day against the Saints before he suffered his injury. It can be hard to get back into the swing of things after missing so many weeks. Playing against a very talented Colts defense certainly didn’t help.

This was a tough loss by the Packers here, who have not been playing their best football as of late. In my opinion, this was a game they had to win. The Colts are a good team with a great defense and it seems like Green Bay struggles against good defenses. Still only their third loss of the season but it’s getting down to the wire in the NFC where every game matters for home-field advantage.
