Packers: Five players key to victory in Week 12 vs. Bears
By Jesse Fry
3. Jaire Alexander
Although Chicago’s offense has struggled badly of late, Allen Robinson is still on track to have a career year.
Robinson is on pace for over 100 receptions and 1,200 yards. Easily one of his best campaigns. He has played well despite shaky quarterback play and hasn’t dropped off whether it be Trubisky or Foles.
Jaire Alexander has drawn the opposing team’s best receiver week after week and shut them down. As well as Robinson has been playing, Alexander has been playing even better.
The weather and wind shouldn’t be as bad as the Packers have seen it in their last couple of home games. That means there won’t be much of a hinderance to throw Sunday night.
What could be a hinderance is just how much Matt Nagy trusts his starting quarterback.
Coach Pettine should dedicate as much man power as he needs to shut down the Bears’ run game. He has two cornerbacks more than ready to handle one-on-one assignments outside to allow him to.
If that is finally the case, Alexander will have a chance to show the world in primetime he belongs in the conversation as the best corner in the NFL.
If Alexander shuts down Robinson, there would leave little doubt just how good he is.
