Top performers from Packers’ Week 12 win.
Top-10 defense be damned, the Green Bay Packers‘ offense looked near unstoppable against the NFL’s ninth-ranked defense.
Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, and the rest of the crew ran through over and around the vaunted Chicago Bears defense.
Granted, the Bears were missing a key piece, Akiem Hicks, but the Packers still had their way against their hated division rival.
Green Bay notched its 100th win against Chicago with precision passing and a run game that took full advantage of Hicks’ absence, running right through the heart of the Bears’ defense.
The final score (41-25) is not indicative of the game. Chicago added two touchdowns during “garbage time” with the Packers ahead 41-10 heading into the fourth quarter. Green Bay had full control of the Bears right from the start.
The defense harassed Mitchell Trubisky forcing three turnovers, one returned for a score. Even the special teams did their part keeping dangerous return man Cordarrelle Patterson in check.
It was also a night of milestones as Aaron Rodgers was just the 11th player to go over 50,000 passing yards and Davante Adams went over 500 catches in just 95 games.
There was a lot to celebrate Sunday night.
Green Bay now holds a three-game lead in the NFC North with just five games left to play. That will not be the final goal for the regular season though. The Packers have a legitimate shot at earning the number one seed and the only first-round bye in the NFC.
The Packers are only one game out of the number one spot behind the New Orleans Saints (9-2) and tied with the Seattle Seahawks (8-3). Should Green Bay finish tied with the Saints, Green Bay would hold the tiebreaker having beaten the Saints in Week 3.
Before I get too far ahead of myself, here are the top performers from the Week 12 win versus the Bears.
