Packers: 5 potential opponents in first round of playoffs
5. Chicago Bears
Don’t laugh.
Believe it or not, the Chicago Bears are still very much alive in the wild-card race despite losing their past six games. That’s a result of their 5-1 start that has allowed them to stay in the mix despite not winning a game in almost two months.
At 5-7, Chicago will need to be near-perfect from this point on.
Unlikely? Yes. Possible? Sure.
The Bears meet the Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings, and Jacksonville Jaguars next. They are hardly the scariest of games. The Vikings will be the toughest of the three but have been up-and-down. Catch them on a bad day and it’s very winnable.
Chicago closes the season out at home against Green Bay. It’ll be Week 17 and the NFC North will likely be in the bag. What if the Packers’ playoff seeding is also set? It’s possible the starters will be pulled and the Tim Boyle Laser Show lights up Soldier Field.
Again, it’s unlikely, but what if the Bears win their next three, beat a Packers reserve team and set up a rematch the following week at Lambeau Field? Stranger things have happened.
Looking ahead to January, which matchups would you most like to see for the Packers? Is there one team you desperately don’t want to face?
