Packers: Two players miss practice on Wednesday ahead of Week 14
Two players missed practice for the Packers on Wednesday.
As the Green Bay Packers prepare for their fifth divisional game of the season, only two players missed practice on Wednesday.
On the Packers’ injury report for Week 14 against the Detroit Lions, wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (knee/concussion) and tight end Jace Sternberger (concussion) didn’t practice on Wednesday.
The good news is that cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee/hand) and edge rusher Za’Darius Smith (ankle) were full participants during Wednesday’s practice.
Nine players were limited at practice today.
The team announced they have activated rookie offensive lineman Simon Stepaniak to the active roster. Stepaniak has been recovering from a torn ACL. He was listed as a limited participation on Wednesday.
Stepaniak provides some more depth to an already very strong offensive line.
There was some bad injury news for the Packers this week with the team announcing that running back Tyler Ervin, safety Raven Greene, and defensive lineman Billy Winn were all placed on injured reserve. That means they’ll all have to miss at least three games.
The Lions had a number of players not practicing on Wednesday.
Star wide receiver Kenny Golladay remains a doubt to play this week. He didn’t practice due to a hip injury. Rookie cornerback Jeff Okudah didn’t practice due to a groin injury. Offensive lineman Tyrell Crosby and safety C.J. Moore also didn’t practice.
The Packers return to Ford Field on Sunday, a stadium they led at for a total of zero seconds last season but still flew home with the win. Talk about impressive.
Matt LaFleur will be hoping for a better performance and more comfortable victory this time, but the main thing is getting the win. If that needs a comeback and walk-off Mason Crosby field goal, so be it.
We’ll keep a close eye on the injury report and news throughout the week.
