The Green Bay Packers can clinch a playoff berth this week. ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted all of the possible ways it can happen this weekend, including both winning the NFC North or securing a wild-card berth.

As ever, there are countless scenarios which could happen this week and guarantee the Packers a playoff berth. Some are more obvious such as the Packers winning and the Arizona Cardinals losing. Others, not so obvious, such as a Packers win and Seattle Seahawks victory over the New York Jets. That one is more surprising.

Most important of all is for Green Bay to defeat the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Anything else is a bonus. But here are five teams that can help in Week 14.

New England Patriots (at Rams)

It starts Thursday night with the New England Patriots visiting the NFC West-leading Los Angeles Rams.

The Patriots might not be the same dominant team they once were, but after winning four of their past five, there’s some hope they could pull off an upset against the Rams.

This all comes down to potential playoff seeding. Assuming the Packers win the NFC North, they’ll have one of the top four seeds. We can forget the NFC East winners; they will have the four. Green Bay will benefit by the winner of the NFC West having the three seed, leaving just the one and two.

Los Angeles currently leads the NFC West, so root against them this week.
