New York Giants (vs. Cardinals)

The Arizona Cardinals are in a free-fall after losing three straight and four of their past five. Another Cardinals loss this week, paired with a Packers win, would be enough to send Matt LaFleur’s team back into the playoffs.

This is because the Cardinals are 6-6 and currently the eighth team in the NFC, one spot out of the playoff positions. If the Packers win or tie (improving to 10-3 or 9-3-1), the Cardinals would be unable to catch them at 6-7. And no other team outside of the playoff positions would be able to, either.

If the Packers win and Cardinals lose in Week 14, the worst-case scenario for Green Bay when it comes to playoff seeding would be the seventh seed, good for a wild-card berth.

The Packers have incredibly high playoff odds regardless of this game. Even if they lost their remaining four games, there’s still a good chance they’d make the playoffs. But it sure would be nice to have a playoff berth wrapped up this week, wouldn’t it?

Now, a Vikings loss would mean that a Packers win would be enough for the NFC North title, so this game might not matter. But we’ll be happy with any route to the postseason. Root against Arizona this week.
