3. Packers wrap up NFC North title

As they play in the late window of games, by the time the Packers walk off the field on Sunday, they could be NFC North champions.

If Green Bay gets the victory over Detroit and the Minnesota Vikings lose or tie versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the division title would belong to the Packers with three games remaining.

Despite winning five of their past six games, I predict the Vikings’ impressive run will come to an end on the road against the Bucs on Sunday. And that will open the door for the Packers to secure one of the top three seeds in the NFC and home playoff game.

If the Packers wrap up the NFC North title on Sunday by beating the Lions, they’d also be guaranteed to finish no worse than third in the NFC. The final three weeks would then be about trying to secure the only bye week in the conference.

The NFC North will almost certainly be the Packers’ at some point in the next couple of weeks. With a victory on Sunday to go with a Vikings loss or tie (or a Packers tie and Vikings loss), the job will be complete and the Packers will be playoff bound once again.
