Early predictions for Packers 2021 free agents.

The Green Bay Packers lead the NFC after 13 games with a great chance ahead of them to secure home-field advantage in the playoffs. However, today, we’re going to take a brief detour away from the postseason picture and look ahead to the spring.

When factoring in a likely reduced salary cap plus the long list of free agents the Packers will have in March, it’s fair to say this might be the team’s best shot to win another Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers. Many key pieces from this year’s team will be gone by next season.

The Packers have already made the two biggest free agency moves they needed to, re-signing both Kenny Clark and David Bakhtiari to extensions. Credit to Brian Gutekunst. He got both deals done and didn’t risk losing either to free agency.

However, it comes at a price. Don’t expect the Packers to be big spenders in free agency next offseason, or many teams for that matter. According to Over The Cap’s projections, the Packers are currently $18.98 million over the 2021 salary cap if it is reduced to $176 million. That doesn’t give the team much flexibility.

Unfortunately, that means most of the team’s upcoming free agents could walk. Here are my early predictions for 2021.
