It has become a two-man race for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award. In my opinion, the Packers have the leader.

Aaron Rodgers turned 37 this month, but by the way he’s playing, you couldn’t tell.

In addition to his golden arm, Rodgers flashed his rushing ability a little more this week, running for a first down and his second rushing touchdown on the year.

Rodgers is playing relaxed and in full control of the offense in year two of Matt LaFleur. He is one touchdown short of his third 40-touchdown season, only throwing four interceptions.

His mastery was on full display in the second half as Rodgers dinked and dunked his way down the field to begin, then leant on his run game in the Packers’ second scoring drive, ending with his third touchdown of the game on a short pass to Robert Tonyan.

Right now it seems the only thing hurting Rodgers’ stats are his kneel downs at the end of games, and that’s OK.

Green Bay is riding high and in control of the NFC. The biggest task for the Packers in the remaining three weeks of the season is to not lose sight of their goals and get caught slipping.

There is still tough completion ahead. The Carolina Panthers have something to prove, the Tennessee Titans want a division crown of their own and the Chicago Bears, no matter their record, would love to rain on the Packers’ parade.

If the Packers can win their next three games, all roads through the NFC will lead through Lambeau.
