Washington Football Team (vs. Seahawks)

Tied with the Rams for first place in the NFC West are the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle enters Week 15 in a wild-card spot but could still secure the top seed in the conference by winning its division.

This week, the Seahawks take on the Washington Football Team. How does this impact the Packers?

Again, win out and this game won’t matter for Green Bay. However, if Seattle wins out and Green Bay loses a game, the Seahawks can still finish ahead of the Packers.

After a slow start, Washington has won four straight, including handing the Pittsburgh Steelers their first loss of the season. Washington has it all to play for as leaders of the NFC East and they have the fourth-ranked defense in the NFL. This could be a slip-up game for the Seahawks.

Surely if the Seahawks lose and the Rams win, it makes no difference for the Packers as Los Angeles would be the NFC West leaders?

Well, it could. If Seattle loses to Washington but then defeats Los Angeles next week, it would be a great result for the Packers. Similarly, if the Seahawks win but the Rams lose to the Jets then win next week, the result would be the same.

In an ideal world, all three of the Packers’ nearest challengers will slip-up. In that scenario, a win over the Panthers would put them two clear of the Rams and Seahawks and a game ahead of the Saints.
