Packers: Five players key to victory in Week 15 vs. Panthers
By Jesse Fry
5. Aaron Rodgers
Not only are the next three games the stretch run to the playoffs for the Packers, it is also the time their quarterback can enhance his bid for his third MVP.
The race for NFL MVP is pretty much down to two men, Aaron Rodgers and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
In my opinion, Rodgers should have the lead. He leads Mahomes in every statistical category except yards. Like Mahomes, his team has clinched their division and knocking on the door of the number one seed.
Rodgers is playing as well as he has at any time of his career. He has been throwing in rhythm and is less reliant on extended plays to make things happen.
A strong finish to the season should get Rodgers his third MVP. His next two games are at home where he loves to play and the last is against a team he loves to face.
Rodgers has mentioned many times how much he’d love to play an NFC title game at Lambeau. All four of his appearances have been away. Well, if he stays hot over the last three games, his MVP and number one seed could go hand-in-hand.
It’s all right there for the Packers and Rodgers. They cannot afford any slip-ups from here on out if they want all roads to run through Lambeau.
The equation is simple. Win the next three and they have home-field.
