Re-signings

  • K Mason Crosby
  • RB Tyler Ervin
  • TE Marcedes Lewis
  • S Will Redmond

Re-signing Mason Crosby was an absolute must this past offseason. And once again, the Packers’ longtime kicker has delivered, converting all 16 of his field goal attempts so far this season, including all four over 50 yards. One was a 57-yarder, almost tying his career-best.

Crosby is having yet another great year as Green Bay’s kicker. Bringing him back on a new deal was one of the top priorities in free agency and it’s paid off.

So far, Tyler Ervin hasn’t been able to match his form from late in the 2019 season. Ervin helped turn the special teams performances around late last year but his numbers have dropped in 2020.

Ervin’s punt return average has dropped from 9.6 yards to 4.0 and he’s also averaging less than 20 yards per kickoff return. Injuries have also been an issue. Ervin has missed six games and is currently on injured reserve.

The decision to re-sign Marcedes Lewis was a great one by Gutekunst. Aaron Rodgers continues to have high praise for Lewis, who plays a vital role in Matt LaFleur’s offense as a blocker. He’s also contributed with three touchdowns.

Will Redmond is a backup on defense but remains a regular special teams contributor.
